PUTRAJAYA, June 8 (Bernama) -- The number of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) has dropped from 49 to 44 said Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican over the past two days.
Dr Mohd Ismail said no cluster cases have been reported since June 4.
He added that four new Influenza A (H1N1) positive cases were reported, increasing the overall total thus far to 14,969.
Dr Mohd Ismail said the number of ILI patients still warded at hospitals nationwide stood at 535 and from the total 47 or 8.8 per cent had tested positive for A(H1N1).
He said the total number of ILI patients still receiving treatment at intensive care units (ICUs) was nine and that all were individuals in the high risk group.
"No new deaths because of influenza H1NI have been reported making the total fatalities due to the disease to remain at 88," he said.
